I love the new editor. There is just one frustration: When I edit a page, I am unable to move a block up or down.

Every help topic that I’ve found about moving blocks says the same thing. Either use the up-and-down arrows or drag-and-drop using the six-dot grid. Example

Unfortunately, no matter what I do, there are no up-and-down arrows, nor is there a six-dot grid.

This is a new installation of WordPress installed earlier this month. The version is 5.0.2.

I’m using the Twenty Nineteen theme.

I’ve disabled all plugins, which were all installed from Administration > Plugins, but that hasn’t helped.

Please help — how do I move a block up or down when I edit a page?

    Thank you

  • Hi there, sorry you are having issues moving a block. I would love to know what browser you are using as perhaps that will help identify the cause.

Thank you for this idea, Tammie.

    • I use Chrome.
    • Trying Firefox instead, it worked.
    • Using a new (empty) profile in Chrome, it worked.

The solution was to delete the cookies relating to my website, and then it worked.

    Thank you again.
