I've tried installing this plugin, but I cannot get it to display at all.
My website is World in Sport
WP Page Navi options are here
Any help appreciated!
I currently use this:
<?php previous_post('« « %', '', 'yes'); ?> | <?php next_post('% » » ', '', 'yes'); ?> and have tried replacing with
<?php wp_pagenavi(); ?> but this doesn't fix the issue?
Ok after a bit of debugging, I have managed to get it work on the archives.php. category.php and search.php.
Just cannot get it work on the main home page at the moment?
If you are using a static front page, it will not work. Try index.php that is the main file for most themes.
While I have got it to display now, clicking pages 2-6 etc doesn't show the posts on that pages, still displays posts on page 1?
If you are not touching the theme, it might be the theme itself doesn't cater for pagination or if you are using custom post type, you will need to do some work.
You might want to read through http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/wp-pagenavi for all the the threads related to it.
Or if you are unsure contact your theme author.
I've got no chance with my theme's developer, they are so unsupportive it's ridculous.
They wouldn't even tell me if the site caters for pagination.
I've tried reading http://wordpress.org/support/topic/navigation-not-working-3?replies=1 but being not that clued up on code I'm at a loss...
At a guess I would say the page does work with pagination as it works with archives, search and categories.php just not the homepage!
Yea that is why I am guessing you are using Static Front Page as the homepage which will not work with pagination out of the box unless they are some coding involved. Sorry to hear that, but unfortunately the really best person would be your theme developer to answer it because they know their stuff more than me =)
