    Hi,

I’m sure this is a teething problem on my part. After some minor changes to my ezgo-now.com file system based on suggestions from “Online Backup for WordPress” I got the plug-in to work. I did a local back-up that took about 5 minuets. It did produce some error message along the way but it looked like it was successful. After it was done I to the Local Backups Page. The top of the page said “Below is a list of backup files currently stored on your server.”

When I selected WPOnlineBackup_05-07-2013_16-21-23_6_d0059d6bdb44a135da56c4ce3f8abd590f35b086.zip. for download I got a 404 error. When I went looking for it myself using Filezilla & the Phelsk web-site software I could not find it. I also checked my local hard drive and the Backups web-site.

It’s to large for the allowed free storage & although I’m not opposed to paying for additional storage I’d like to get working first using the “Local” option. Below is my info.

    Thanks
    Matt

    Hi mattwaters,

If you go on the Local Backups page in the description above it should tell you the path on the server where the files are stored. Can you look for that path in FTP?

It should be something like wp-content/backups/

    Jason,

Thanks for the reply, No that directory is empty. I have done a complete search of the site using Filezilla & my host’s Phelsk Control pannel just looking for a .zip file & come up empty.

Is there a way to tell Backups where to send the file?

At this point using your program I again tried the email option. This time I did a data base only back-up. It created a 7374K file named: WPOnlineBackup_Full.zip.e2b415d6c4200bc4c81a111f01431c8f370bc078. This I was able to down load by clicking “download” from with-in Backups. (no 404 error) The problem is I can not find this one either.

Where could it be? Should I keep looking or is there a Backups system file I can just modify so the file goes to a place where I can find? That said I’m not sure why I can not download the first file unless it is just to large. It is 156.36 MiB but that would not explain the 404 error when downloading that file from with-in Backups

This is a really cool program I’d like to be able to use it as it’s intended.

    Thanks
PS. Although I have searched the entire site (I thought) the places I have focuse my search on are :wp-content/backups, wp-content/plug-ins/wponlinebackup & wp-content/plug-ins/wponlinebackup/tm

    Hi Matt,

You generated an email backup, and were able to download it? Where did you download it from? Email backups should not be downloadable.

Local backup files should appear in wp-content/backups. If not maybe try using FTP to change permissions to 777 and test the backup – it may be the plugin can’t write to that folder. I’ll check the plugin to make sure it reports an error if it doesn’t have access to that folder, it could be it doesn’t at the moment.

    Regards,

    Jason.

    Hi Matt,

We just released 3.0.1 which helps detect problems with local backup folder permissions. You should upgrade and see if it gives an error when running a backup instead of allowing it to run and ending up with 404 not found.
