    Dear @lorro if you are around,
    I am back. It now seems that all of my products that have variations aren’t working as I would like.

    I followed all of your previous steps and they were working for awhile. Reference this thread: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/how-do-i-force-all-product-variant-selections-before-add-to-cart-button-works/

    By working I mean that in order for a person to be able too add a product to the cart they must make a selection on “all” variants.

    Now they can select any one of the variants and add to cart. I want to be able to force that all variants must be selected so I can see on the back end what was ordered.

    Do you have any ideas on a resolution? If you need more info please let me know.

    Thank you in advance for your time,
    Brendan

  • “All variants to be selected” is default woocommerce behaviour.

    Please start by updating your theme. To be honest I don’t think that will fix this but its the place to start.

    Sydney is at v1.71 and you have v1.55, so quite a way behind.

    Done.

    The problem is still not fixed.

    Next ideas? I am considering disabling plugins and testing that way.

    Warmly,
    Brendan

    Yes I think that’s next. Start with Sydney + WC. Does that work? Then reactivate other plugins one-by-one and check.

    I deactivated all plugins except WC+SYDNEY (theme)

    Problem still persists.

    I also tried with Sydney + WC only and got the same result. It was possible to select a variable product without selecting all the attributes. Works fine with Storefront. So this looks like a fault with Sydney. I think the thing to do is report it on the Sydney support forum:
    https://wordpress.org/support/theme/sydney/

    The authors seem a keen bunch so I’d expect them to fix it for the next update.

    Meanwhile I’ve devised some custom css to disable the add-to-cart until all varations have been selected. There is no pop-up warning as there should be, but its intended to be a temporary fix only.

    .woocommerce-variation-add-to-cart-disabled button {
      background-color: #333333;
      opacity: 0.2;
      pointer-events: none;
    }

    Message sent to the Sydney forum. We shall see what they say.

    Thanks for having a look and making the code!

    Where does it need to be placed?

    Dashboard > Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS

    It worked. Thank you for the help!

    Follow up question. Is there a way to place a note in the CSS so that it doesn’t mess up the code? I tried to do //(note text here) and it messed up the functionality of the code you wrote.

    Cheers!

    Got it thank you.

    Should I mark as resolved or wait for a fix from Sydney? As far as I am concerned this is resolved for now.

    Thanks for your help once again.

    See if you get a response from Sydney and tell us about it here. The WooCommerce team will close this thread in due course.

    Hi @thebrendanlea

    Were you able to get this sorted with the Sydney theme authors?
