I am getting &#8211 in some of my links since the new update

  • Hi,

    I just posted a post and then I was commenting on some blogs with commentluv. These sites allow your post links show in the comments.

    I noticed that the link to the post I posted had &#8211 in it. When it happened again I began to explore and I noticed that this appeared in some other posts I published as well.

    I never noticed this before. What is happening is that &#8211 replaces a dash in my posts, and &#817 replaces apostrophe.

    I have never noticed it before. Do you know why it is happening? I often used dashes and apostrophes in my titles and this the first time I am noting it.

    Thanks,

    Dita

  • Check which encoder your browser is now using…

    Hi Seacoast,

    I apologize, but I have no clue what you are telling me to do.

    What browser, version, and OS are you using?

    Hi Seacoast,

    I googled your answer and my browser (Firefox) is using Unicode (UTF-8). Now I am not very techie but this is what I found when I checked View and clicked on character encoding

    Thanks,

    Dita

    Seacoast,

    I am using FireFox 18, windows 7. I never had this problem as I comment quite a bit and often use dashes and apostrophes.

    thanks

    Dita

    OK, so now we need to address only what is being output by your site…please right click on it and view source and share the head info…

    Hope this is what you want:
    <meta charset=”UTF-8″ />
    <title>Residual Income Online | eBizDame | Internet Marketing</title>
    <meta http-equiv=”Content-Type” content=”text/html; charset=UTF-8″ />

    This code starts with <head> and ends with </head> and is output by WP, the Theme and even plugins…to see it Right Click your site and View Source…

    Seacoast,

    I thought that perhaps it is caused by a plugin that I installed about a month ago. But now I remember that I have seen it in a post link of another commenter. Chances of that person having the plugin are very small.

    It must be my computer. I think.

    Seacoast,

    That is a huge amount of info. Maybe easier is my URL
    My site is http://ebizdame.com
