Support » Fixing WordPress » I am directed to Go Daddy when I click "View Site"

  • I started a WordPress site using a domain which I owned through GoDaddy. I mapped my domain to my WordPress site, selected a WP theme, and customized the WP content but every time i click “View Site” I am directed to a GoDaddy page that says “You’ve registered your domain. Now put it to work”. The url for the GoDaddy page is correct but I’m not sure why the WP website doesn’t show up. Can somebody help? I’m really confused and GoDaddy said that I needed to talk to WP.

  • Hello Synchrony3,

Sorry about the trouble you are having. I hope I fully understand your issue, but from what you mentioned you were able to login to the WordPress Admin Panel, select a theme, even add content. However, when you go to view the front end of your website, it directs you to a GoDaddy page?

If that is the case, I would try clearing your browsers History, Cookies, and Cache. Maybe even try a different browser to see if the problem still occurs. Hopefully that helps a little.

Contact GoDaddy, sounds like your DNS settings are wrong.

Did you delete the index.html or default.html file that Godaddy sticks in the root folder?
