Hyperlinks don't link in thumbnails (6 posts)

I have just started a website and am very new to the game. I made a post earlier today that contained a few hyperlinks. The hyperlinks work great when viewing the post directly but when you're on my home page, the hyperlinks just appear as jumbled text and do not hyperlink.

Is there a way to bring those hyperlinks alive on the thumbnail?

If not, is there a way to hide the hyperlinks from the thumbnail but still be inside the post itself? (Besides just hitting space bar until they fall out of the 30 character view I have my home page allow viewable per thumbnail.

Inquiry is in reference to the post called "Help the Crowdfunding cause" on the homepage at http://www.turnerpeters.com

Hyperlinks work fine on the actual post here:

It looks like the 'text' is the same as the 'link'. To fix:

Edit Post>Highlight ALL of the 'text' (of the url), look for the 'Anchor' icon to now not be grayed out>There are two fields here, the text to display and the URL to go to>Fix accordingly>Update post.

The Text to Display will be show in the excerpts on home page (and as links at post)

Thanks for continuing to help me.

This did not fix it though. I assume when you mean 'Anchor' you mean the two chains that look like they would connect an anchor to a boat.

There are two icons that change from being grayed out. One is a connected chain and the other is a broken chain.
The first says "Insert/edit link" when hovering over it.
The second says "Unlink" when hovering over it.

"Unlink" just unhyperlinks so I'm assuming that you meant "Insert/edit link."
Within that field, I have reinput the hyperlink a few times (by the way that is where I put the hyperlink initially.)
I've tried having the link in the link field and in the title field.

Either way, the hyperlink functionality does not persist through to the home page. They only work when on the post itself.

The hyperlink will not be present in the excerpt at home page...in full post it will and is....that said, copy the URL from the edit anchor, delete the text on page, add new text on page, highlight, click anchor icon, paste link, save and update...

You did not address if the text in the post text view is the URL or the text to be displayed...the text to be displayed is what to enter, highlight and add an anchor to..

you would need to edit the front page template of your theme and replace 'the_excerpt()' with 'the_content()', and then control the output length of the post using the 'more tag'; http://codex.wordpress.org/Customizing_the_Read_More

or possibly try to use a plugin for the excerpts like http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/advanced-excerpt/

Awesome! Thank you. I may try to figure out how to do that soon. At this point, it is a bit over my head. But that's very helpful. Thanks again.
