Ummm, unless you own sample.com, those links aren’t really showing anything.
If you redo that with the code in “backticks”[1][2], we’ll be able to see what you mean.
[1] On my (UK) keyboard, that’s to the left of 1 and above Tab. I think it may be in the vicinity of ~ on other layouts.
[2] And I still think asking people to mark code with a key most people haven’t heard of isn’t the best idea…
To answer the question, yes, the former is fine (and still considered valid) for old fashioned text links.
On LB’s [2]: A partial agreement, but on a board where people are constantly posting code fragments, you try to come up with a little-used key that can act as a raw code marker.
The word “code” in square brackets would be more readily understandable by people in general.
Or maybe just moving the instructions above the post textarea?
