    Hi,

We are seeing quite a lot of spam and garbage entries on our contact and feedback forms (created via jetpack) and am not seeing any way to:

      a) add a captcha / human test to the forms.
      b) add our existing akismet key to enable it in jet pack.

anything we can do to resolve, without buying a jp plan, the spam problem in the contact/feedback forms?
Again we have a (few) existing akismet key(s) available to us.

If the Akismet plugin is installed, activated, and configured on the site where you’re using a Jetpack Contact Form, all form submissions will automatically go through Akismet; you don’t need to enable that option or configure the form anywhere, this happens as soon as the Akismet plugin is activated and configured under Jetpack > Akismet in your dashboard.

If spam still seems to get through, could you send us a few examples via this form, or use the Spam button under the Feedback menu in your dashboard to report the spam that wasn’t initially detected by Akismet?

    Thanks!

Ok so add the stand-alone akismet plugin so jetpacks forms are processed thru it. Got it.

what about adding a captcha or human test to the actual form?

That’s not on our roadmap, since Akismet should normally do the job without making it more difficult for humans to fill in a form.

You can, however, use a third-party plugin to add Captcha support to Jetpack forms. Here is a plugin that could help, for example:
