There should only be 4 post meta tags per post – the biggest one of those is probably going to be the wordbooker_extract as that contains text.

How many posts do you have? Do you have post revisions enabled?

I have about 1,800 posts with revisions limited to 3, and older revisions deleted. The wp_postmeta table has over 800,000 rows. I believe I found the culprit: An RSS reader that generates a post with every run. I have removed these RSS posts from the wp_posts table, but the data remains in the wp_postmeta table. If I could remove the meta data for deleted posts, that would probably solve the issue.

Ran the following database query that did the trick (note: back up database before running):

    DELETE pm
    FROM wp_postmeta pm
    LEFT JOIN wp_posts wp ON wp.ID = pm.post_id
    WHERE wp.ID IS NULL

Well I’m glad you found out what was going on.
