 * Hello,
 * I can’t seem to find any answers to this on Google.
 * My site uses SSL so all the URLs obviously start with the “https” protocol. My
issue is that the WordPress editor link tool creates links as “http”. This isn’t
a huge problem because the user will be redirected to the https version; however,
I don’t want to have to send everyone who clicks on a link through a redirect.
I’ve resorted to Finding and Replacing all the http URLs to the https before
I publish, but it would be great if I could just get the editor to use https.
 * Anyone have any ideas on how to get the editor to use https instead of http?

 * Well, the link tool doesn’t force the protocol. It gives you a completely blank
URL field, which you then fill with the entire URL, either http:// or https://
   included, whichever one you want.
 * The link button doesn’t force any particular choice on you.

 * When you use the link tool to to link within your own site, it creates that link
   for you.
 * I actually just figured out that if you go to Settings > General and then update
the “WordPress Address (URL)” to include the https, the link tool in the editor
   will use it.

 * I guess that’s what I don’t understand. This is what I see with the Link button
pop-up on every single WordPress site I manage, all running 4.2.3: [https://cloudup.com/c2KXmvJkcra](https://cloudup.com/c2KXmvJkcra)
 * If you see something different (like yours injecting HTTP or HTTPS), perhaps
you have a plugin or custom editor doing it.
