 * When integrating dynamic thumbnail generation (via robothumb.com) into a https-
   secured website the browser shows a warning because of “insecure content”. Is
   there a link-library setting to integrate dynamically created thumbnails via
   https?
 * Example:
    [http://www.robothumb.com/src/?url=http://www.yahoo.fr](http://www.robothumb.com/src/?url=http://www.yahoo.fr)–
   working, but “insecure content” when embedded in https site [https://www.robothumb.com/src/?url=http://www.yahoo.fr](https://www.robothumb.com/src/?url=http://www.yahoo.fr)–
   not working.
 * Best regards,
    Manuel.

 * There is no link library setting to make robothumb work over an https connection.
   This is a limitation of that service. The other service supported by Link Library
   does offer the ability to serve images over SSL, but only for paid accounts.
 * If you plan to sign up for that plan, I could implement support for SSL for paid
   thumbshots accounts.
 * An alternative would be to download thumbnails instead of serving them dynamically.
   Then you would have them locally on your web server and they could be served
   over https.

 * Oh, wow. I didn’t realize Thumbshots was still active.
 * The ShrinkTheWeb API library makes it easy to integrate the service and the service
   allows for HTTPS and custom CNAMEs. Additionally, the optional (and strongly
   recommended) “Callback Notification” feature (free) will deliver images to remote
   servers or storage the instant that a capture is ready (no polling required).
 * I would love to see STW integrated into this plugin. 🙂

 * [@jackdewey](https://wordpress.org/support/users/jackdewey/) Thanks for your
   hints. Now I disabled the dynamic thumbnail generation and the site uses locally
   stored thumbs instead. And, to be honest, it might even be the better solution
   regarding loading time and the screen-shotted websites do not change that rapidly.
   A manual update twice a year should be enough for my use case.
 * Nevertheless, it would be a nice feature to have the ability to use a (free,
   at least for a little to medium amount of requests per month) dynamic thumbnail
   service via https – for both the requesting site and the screen-shotted site.
   There are so many services similar to STW suggested by [@puravida1976](https://wordpress.org/support/users/puravida1976/)(
   e.g. [https://www.programmableweb.com/category/screenshots/api](https://www.programmableweb.com/category/screenshots/api)).
   Of course, most of them offer only very limited functionality for free, but maybe
   you can find one that is suitable at least for operators of smaller websites
   among the Link Library users?
