 * I made an error in my Settings->General section.
 * In the domain box in General, I accidentally typed https:// instead of [http://](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/https-error-in-my-settings-general-section/?output_format=md).
 * The Certificate was not installed so this of course is not working, and anytime
I try to log in to my website backoffice, or even try to look at my website,
I get an error that says “This site cannot be reached”.
 * How am I supposed to be able to fix this error if I cannot log in to my back
   office?
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Fhttps-error-in-my-settings-general-section%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)
   to see the link]_

 * To change it back, using [FTP/ SFTP ](http://codex.wordpress.org/FTP_Clients),
or your web-host’s cPanel or whatever file management application your host provides,
access phpMyAdmin on your host, then find your DB, there check the wp_options
Table (Note: The table prefix of wp_ may be different if you changed it when
installing), and make sure **siteurl** field and **home** field are correct.
See this Codex for more info and more options [https://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL#Changing_the_URL_directly_in_the_database](https://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL#Changing_the_URL_directly_in_the_database)
 * If you don’t feel comfortable messing with the database, contact your hosting
provider to help you with this or try other methods described in the aforementioned
   codex
 * **If you haven’t already done, always backup your database before doing any actions,
just in case something really goes wrong. You can never have enough backups! **
 * See this codex guide for more info: [https://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL](https://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL)
