 * Hi,
 * I have a homepage with default language “German” and an additional language “
   English”. My german home page is “[http://mydomain/startseite&#8221](http://mydomain/startseite&#8221);.
   My english home page is “[http://mydomain/home&#8221](http://mydomain/home&#8221);.
   Due to problems with the theme I can’t link “startseite” to “home”.
 * I switched of “use browser language”.
 * Calls to “[http://mydomain&#8221](http://mydomain&#8221); forward to “[http://mydomain/startseite&#8221](http://mydomain/startseite&#8221);
   => ok
 * If I switch in the menu to the english translation then open “[http://mydomain&#8221](http://mydomain&#8221);
   it forwards to “[http://mydomain/en&#8221](http://mydomain/en&#8221); => not
   ok
 * Is there a workaround to set the english home page to “[http://mydomain/home&#8221](http://mydomain/home&#8221);
   and not to “[http://mydomain/en&#8221](http://mydomain/en&#8221); ?

 * Settings:
 * Default language: Deutsch
 * The language is set from content
 * Remove /language/ in pretty permalinks
 * Not checked: When the front page is visited, set the language according to the
   browser preference

 * Hi!
 * You must tell Polylang that “startseite” is the translation of “home”. Edit “
   startseite”. Start typing “home” in the input field in front of the English flag.
   This is an autocomplete input field. Select the page. The + should be transformed
   in a pen. Save changes.

 * Thank you for the advice but I can’t do that due to the theme I use.
 * “Due to problems with the theme I can’t link “startseite” to “home”.”
 * Due to the theme I can’t tell Polylang that “home” is a translation of “startseite”.
   I wanted to know if there is another possibility to fix my problem.

 * I actually have some problem understanding what doesn’t work, and why your theme
   won’t allow you to link pages.

 * I don’t think so. Unless you want to dig into your .htaccess file.
 * Explanation: The /en/ part tells WordPress / Polylang which language to use,
   English in that example. Without the /en/ it will think that you want your default
   language, German in your case. There is no way that I know of to tell Polylang
   that /home is the English version of /startseite.
