 * I installed WordPress on an OpenBSD 3.7 system. I’m new to OpenBSD but not to
   Apache. When I try to view the main page, I get this in the Apache log:
 * 192.168.204.1 – – [09/Jul/2005:20:30:41 -0500] “GET /wordpress/index.php/index.
   php/index.php/index.php/index.php/index.php/index.php/index.php/index.php/index.
   php/index.php/index.php/index.php/index.php/index.php/index.php/index.php/index.
   php/index.php/index.php/index.php HTTP/1.1” 301 548 “-” “Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U;
   Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050524 Fedora/1.0.4-4 Firefox/1.0.4”
 * I had originally tried to redirect ‘/wordpress’ to ‘/wordpress/index.php’, but
   that didn’t work and I removed the line. Now Firefox is complaining that the
   maximum amount of redirects has been reached and refuses to load the page (any
   page, including the admin functions).
 * So something is getting in the way of Apache handling the request. Any ideas?

 * You still have an active Redirect in your .htaccess that is looping.
 * The best solution is to delete the whole contents of the .htaccess and the get
   WordPress to regenerate it’s rules for Permalinks by going to Options … Permalinks
   in the admin ui.

 * Thanks…although I had to reinstall WordPress (I screwed up a few things in trying
   to fix it), setting up the .htaccess seems to have fixed my other problem where
   going to /wordpress wasn’t bringing up the blog.

 * Actually, it didn’t fix my later problem.
 * If I go to [http://quantumskyline.homelinux.net/wordpress](http://quantumskyline.homelinux.net/wordpress),
   the browser says it can’t find the site. If I use [http://quantumskyline.homelinux.net/wordpress/index.php](http://quantumskyline.homelinux.net/wordpress/index.php),
   there’s no problem.
 * I’ve set the DirectoryIndex property to be ‘index.html index.php’. Is there anything
   else I need to do?
