  • Hi there! From what I’m reading, it sounds as if you’ve followed all the steps here: https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-fix-the-http-image-upload-error-in-wordpress/

I’d recommend also switching to a different browser (if you are using Chrome, especially, as it can sometimes cause this error.)

If you’ve uploaded any new plugins in the last few days, try deactivating them.

Last but not least, you may want to reach out to your host to see if they have made any changes to your server environment; it’s possible that the problem is on that end.

Also, you may need to increase the amount of memory. Again, ask your hosting provider.

This may also have been caused by an over-aggressive configuration of your server’s mod_security module. Again, try asking your hosting provider about it.

You are not alone. I am running 5.2.2 on four different sites on two different servers.
I have been able to upload images since the 5.2.2 update.
The hosts tell me all is good.
I have tried all of the fixes in wpbeginner.com as recommended.
I have tried 2kb gif, jpg all the way up to 2mb sizes.
All four sites do NOT have all the same plugins.
I attempted the disable plugins routines on all 4 sites.
All four sites have tons of space. The sites have different PHP Versions – 7.2.20 & 7.0.33.

    Apparently it’s a WordPress Issue.

    Thanks for your quick remedy.
    Jim
