"http error" on media upload redux

Ther was a thread two years ago with the topic title above which describes exactly what’s going on for me. The problem is that I get the MEGO effect when anyone starts posting code. And two years and a major update. Shouldn’t that have been fixed along the way?

I’m reallly not up to messing with code. I really can’t deal with this. Any ideas for a code dummy.
