# HTTP error during the API request.

 * Hello again.
 * I’m trying to search for themes, plug-ins and all the wonderful stuff that WP
   has to offer, the thing is that every time I try to browse through the themes
   I get
 * > “An Unexpected HTTP Error occurred during the API request.”
 * I looked up and change the `'timeout' => apply_filters( 'http_request_timeout',
   5);` to a 30 on the _class-http.php_ file (I’m using the 3.2.1 version) and it
   still shows me the same error. I’ve been looking for an answer but nothing comes
   up.

   configuration issue.

 * I asked my hosts for assistance and they told me that there was no problem on
   the server. I’m extra stuck now. I tried to upload a theme manually and it won’t
   let me either, it shows the following:
 * > The uploaded file could not be moved to /usr/www/www3/www.mydomian.com.mx/wp-
   > content/uploads.
 * And I don’t know why it’s written with “www/www3/ plus another www.
 * I’m going bananas over this 🙁

 * This could purely be the way in which the host has configured your server. The
   final ‘www’ refers to your site url, yes? Try changing the permissions on the
   wp-content directory to 766. If you still have problems, try 767, 775 or 777.
   Once your uploads are working, change the permissions on wp-content back to 755
   again and check that everything still works OK.

 * I changed the file permissions to 767, 775, 777, and still not able to upload
   images or any kind of files.
 * I finally was able to upload manually (through ftp) some themes and plug-ins.
 * I actually think it has got something to do with the server but I don’t know 
   how to prove it with the technicians 🙁

 * Yup, I send them a screenshot with the
 * > “An Unexpected HTTP Error occurred during the API request.”
 *  all they said was that they don’t provide support to wordpress, and that there
   was nothing they could do.

 * Esmi:
 * I deleted from my ftp the “uploads” file and create another one and that semeed
   to do the trick, the whole unexpected error with the API apparently I can’t manage
   to solve, I’ll have to upload my stuff manually.
