# HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error)

 * Hola!
 * 5 months ago I started to have a problem with logging in. Whenever I enter my
   password and username, I get this:
    **Server error The website encountered an
   error while retrieving [http://www.iwillwriteabook.com/wp-admin/](http://www.iwillwriteabook.com/wp-admin/).
   It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly. Here are some suggestions:
   Reload this web page later. HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error): An unexpected
   condition was encountered while the server was attempting to fulfil the request.
 * What is that and how to fix it? I don’t want to lose my whole blog.

 * Have you tried:
 * – deactivating **all** plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works,
   re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
 * – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
 * – [resetting the plugins folder](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F)
   by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause
   problems.
