 * Hi there,
 * I got an http error this morning while trying to upload an image to a blog post–
   it was resolved as soon as I deactivated the plug-in. Are you aware of any (new)
   plug-in conflicts or anything else that could cause this?
 * Thanks,
 * Anna

 * Hi Anna,
 * Thank you for contacting us.
 * Have you tried compressing multiple different images, or did you just try it
   on one image? What is the exact http error that you are receiving? If you are
   suspecting a conflict with another plugin you can try to deactivate all the other
   plugins and see if that makes a difference. If it does, you can then activate
   them one by one.

 * Hello,
 * Same problem here. I struggled to find out that the problem came from your plugin.
 * I also got HTTP errors this morning that caused SQL server to crash, according
   to server logs :
 *     ```
       mysqli_query(): Error reading result set's header in mywebsite/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 1924, referer: https://www.mywebsite.com/wp-admin/upload.php
        mysqli_query(): MySQL server has gone away in mywebsite/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 1924, referer: https://www.mywebsite.com/wp-admin/upload.php
       ```
 * I think this is a major issue that is breaking several websites.
 * I keep the plugin deactivated until update / further information on how to solve
   this.
 * Thanks for the help,
    C. Poncet
 * Hi there,
 * When a MySQL client or the mysqld server receives a packet bigger than max_allowed_packet
   bytes, it issues an error and closes the connection. Could you have a look at
   the value set in **max_allowed_packet**, and if needed change it?
 * I do have access to mysql/my.cnf, in which **max_allowed_packet=16M**.
 * Should I increase this ?
 * Thank you.
 * Hi again,
 * You can try to increase this and see if this solves your issue. The protocol
   limit for max_allowed_packet is 1GB. The value should be a multiple of 1024;
   nonmultiples are rounded down to the nearest multiple.
 * Can’t speak to MySQL, but back on HTTP errors specifically, I’ve found that they’re
   usually due to a 504 timeout. Often times, the media is even successfully uploaded,
   but the media library shows a 504 and you have to refresh the page.
 * Hello Anna,
 * We’ve been working on an update of the plugin that allows background optimisation
   of new image uploads. This making the process quicker and more stable. By moving
   the compression step to the background any HTTP errors should also no longer
   interfere when uploading new images.
 * Currently the pre-release version is being tested and we hope to release the
   update at the end of July.
