 * Sometimes Im getting http error while trying to upload an image. Do you know
   what could I do to fix that? Maybe increase the runtime limit on my server? Or
   is it another reason? Thank you!

 * If you aren’t using the resizing or conversion settings, images should “normally”
   be optimized in the background. There are some exceptions to this, but generally
   if uploads take longer when EWWW is enabled, then background mode probably isn’t
   working, so increasing the time limit is the first thing I would try. Another
   thing to check is your memory limit. If you have large images (7-8 MB or more)
   and are using the resize settings, memory limits can be problematic.

 * This may be a stupid answer, but I could have saved myself a ton of time had
   I thought of this before when I was running into the same issue.
 * Make sure your images are RGB not CMYK

 * [@jimithing007](https://wordpress.org/support/users/jimithing007/), are you saying
   that you were seeing HTTP errors from WordPress when you uploaded CMYK images?

 * Yes. They would never upload, and I’d get that http error. Switched it to RGB,
   uploaded with no issue.
 * Figured it out when I uploaded a photo twice as big as the one I was first attempting
   with no issues. Noticed the only difference was RGB vs. CMYK

 * I tested this again this afternoon. Uploaded an RGB image – no problem. Took
   the same image into photoshop, switched to CMYK and tried to upload – http error.

 * I solved this problem for now increasing my memory limit from 64M to 96M, max
   input vars from 2000 to 4000 and run time from 60 to 90 seconds. Thank you!

 * I am about 1 week into using WP for the first time and I have no idea how to
   code and I don’t know how to find most of what you are talking about. I am getting
   the same HTTP error and I need to upload photos for my shop. Pretend you’re walking
   someone through with no idea how to increase memory limits. My images are about
   1MB.

 * [@ccondie](https://wordpress.org/support/users/ccondie/), if you’re not sure
   about how to mess with memory limits, I recommend you check with your webhost
   to do it. Mostly because there are lots of different methods that webhosts have
   implemented, and some just don’t allow increasing it to start with.
