# Http 500 Internal Server Error when adding a comment

 * When I try and post a comment to test it out, it comes back with an “**HTTP 500
   Internal Server Error**” message and the “**website cannot display the page**”
   message. I’m getting the error even if I fill out the comment form completely.
 * If I am logged into the account and open up another browser window (IE 7) the
   comments work fine. But when I logged out of the system and tried to add a comment,
   I get the 500 Internal Server Error.
 * Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 * Thanks in advance for the help.

 * it must be yours theme, what theme are you using, try the default theme and see
   if you continue to get error

 * Persumably in IE yes?
 * Go to tools -> internet options -> advanced and uncheck “show friendly error 
   messages”, then try again. You may get a more meaningful WordPress error.
 * Probably related to a plugin or theme issue.

 * I actually get the same problem and still have not found a solution. My [wedding photography blog](http://www.furiousphotographersblog.com)
   gets that 500 Internal Error _only if_ I turn the commenting on pop-up, which
   is weird. Aside from that it works fine. I’m still searching for a solution!
