HTTP 500 error

  • Having an odd problem: I can no longer edit my pages.

    When I go to /wp-admin I get a 500 http error.

I can log in (via the link on my site), but when I try to go to any page that is contained in the /wp-admin folder I get a 500 error.

I’m running WP on my own server, which I have full admin access to, and I was able to lon in just fine a few days ago. I did nothing (except add one post to my blog) to the site at that time.

I’ve deleated all of my plug-ins: no effect, so I recovered them from the recycle bin and put them back to thier proper place.

Can’t figure this one out. Any ideas?

  • Oh, I also rebooted my server. I also downloaded the same version of WP, unzipped it, and copied over my /wp-admin directory with everything from the fresh install.

    Still nothing.

    Have you tried:

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.
