Support » Plugin: iQ Block Country » HTTP 404 vs 403 response

  • Resolved mishash

I was analyzing my access logs to see how well the plugin works and noticed something peculiar. While most blocked IPs get back error code 403 (forbidden) there are some who get back error code 404 (not found). Furthermore, I noticed that the ones receiving response 404 are the attempts to access WP back-end.
Question to Pascal (@iqpascal): is this an intended functionality? I kind of see the logic in this (to discourage attackers use non-blocked proxies), but just wanted to make sure it’s not a bug.

Thanks again for the great plugin, love it!

I am afraid my plugin only sends out a 403 header (if the send headers is checked). No 404’s
