# HTTP 404 error

 * Got over one hurdle, now on to the next. I am not able to get the page that lets
   me know WP is properly installed. I get the HTTP 404 error. I know once I get
   going I am going to love this.

 * Well what I am trying to do is install this on a subdomain that I set up. Will
   that work? Or do I need to install this in our root that has our main website?

 * Is the subdomain “subdomain.mainsite.com”?
    If it is, then your install should
   be “subdomain.mainsite.com/wp-admin/install.php” if you put the WP files in the
   root of the subdomain.
