• I had an SEO guy tell me to add the HTML site map to my sites, I did, and also left the Google XML sitemap plugin in active which also creates a .gz site map.

Will this action hurt or help me?

    Thanks,

    John

Shouldn’t hurt you, but it’s hard to say if it’ll help you at all.

Thanks, this guy told me Google was going back to HTML in their indexing but also heard that an XHTML site map is good too.

Both sitemaps are fine and it will not hurt you to have them both.

The XML sitemap is helpful to the search engines because they can tell if there are any pages on your site they have not crawled and indexed yet.
