Running 2.9.2 on my own server. I’m trying to post using the XML-RPC interface from two different client platforms — Posterous, and the WordPress for Android client.

In each case, the same problem is occurring, and the post text’s HTML formatting appears to be getting mangled. At first glance, it looks like all the ‘<‘ and ‘>’ characters are being stripped; perhaps more.

For example, one post I just did as a test post via Posterous appeared like this on the WordPress site:

    div class=’posterous_autopost’This is a another test post via Posterous. It is formatted as a plain text email. Let’s see how it works. p style=”font-size: 10px;” a href=””Posted via email/a from a href=””robneppell’s posterous/a /p /div

Posts I make via Android for WordPress turn out with identical formatting issues.

This seems like something really basic going wrong with the XML-RPC interface. Given that I’ve searched the forums high and low and can’t find any other reports of it, seems clear it’s unlikely to be an actual WordPress bug, but perhaps there’s some setting on my server I need to hunt down.

Help / suggestions would be very much appreciated…

    Rob Neppell
