• Hello. I created a page in html and am trying to use it as a page entry. I thought I could just copy and paste it into the text editor if the editor was on the “html” tab. However, when I save the entry, Word Press is totally changing my code and breaking it.

I’ve searched and found suggestions such as:
1.) uncheck the “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” box in writing settings
2.) check the “Disable the visual editor when writing” box in user settings

Neither of these work. Word Press is still changing my code. I’m sure someone must have had this issue before. Any help would be much appreciated since this is an essential feature. Thank you.

  • You can use markup in the HTML tab but not the entire source of a page complete with html, head and body tags.

I thought I was going to find an answer for my problem but this is the 20th post I found on this issue… What is the point of including an HTML Editor? WP did a really great job on everything except the most important feature that is the tool for editing and formatting text on pages?? I been researching for a full day now since it is literally impossible to space or separate text into paragraphs, it just disappears as soon as the page is updated.
I’m going to persuade my client to move to Nucleus or something else, unless somebody have any ideas on how to solve it.
    Thanks

If you want to format your text and separate paragraphs, you can do that with your CSS. HTML should not be used for the presentation. You can do amazing things with WordPress and if you HAD to use HTML in the editor, no one would use WordPress. That’s not what it’s for.

I’m sorry I’m new to WP; is there a markup guide for the editor??
Actually I’m working on this site for a client that needs to post real time and he does not have a clue of css or html, I’m just concerned because every time he enters posts in the visual pane I’m getting tired to hear him complain that it does not do what he expected and if we need to fix something on the fly is back to square one.

I’m sure it does amazing things after forming a markup structure to set it with CSS, but where can I find a guide?

    Thanks in advance.
