HTML element not working in wordpres

I tried to use the following code with a html element:
<div style=”background-color: #FF0000; margin-left: 20px; margin-right: 20px; padding: 8px;”><b>This is a red box</b> Some Text </div>But instead of a red box I see n o color at all.
Do I need something else to be able to use html in wordpress? Or is there a bug?

I don’t see any of that markup, or that div, for that matter.
What block are you using to create the paragraph?
the first and last quotes in that string is are “smart quotes” and not the plain quote mark. Correct that.
