# HTML editor tab does not work

 * When I try to work in HTML, the HTML tab does not respond since I installed WordPress
   3.0.1 and now upgraded to 3.0.4
    The only thing I can do is change the User setting
   and turn off ‘Use visual editor’, but that is a nuisance because I have to switch
   between Visual and HTML quite often. That means I have to go back and forth, 
   changing the user setting and that is unworkable. Has anyone a solution to this?
 * I’ve seen other posts on this issue but they are all about older versions.

 * Have you tried:
 * – deactivating **all** plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works,
   re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
 * – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?
 * – [resetting the plugins folder](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F)
   by FTP or PhpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause
   problems.
 * – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a **fresh** download
   of WordPress?
 * – increasing the memory available to PHP?
