# HTML code and editor question

 * I am using a plug-in with the following instructions:
 * > To use it, just put the following into the HTML of any page or post, use as
   > many times as you like on the same page:
   > [get_posts]
 * Working on a page, I have the HTML window open in the WP editor, and I have pasted
   the code. It’s showing up in my pages though as [get_posts] when I publish them.
   It doesn’t appear to be acting as HTML code.

 * Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?

 * did you put the `<code>` tags around the shortcode?
 * try without.

 * I tried that, but not with <p> tags around it. I will see if that works and report
   back.

 * It’s still displaying the same way: [http://dvsecurity.ca/wordpress/?page_id=13](http://dvsecurity.ca/wordpress/?page_id=13).
 * Could anything in my theme be causing this? I am not sure why it would interfere
   though. HTML seems to be working fine, just not this code.
 * This is the plug-in that the code is from [http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/nurelm-get-posts/](http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/nurelm-get-posts/)
