I am trying to use your WP Plugin to change my Htaccess file. Installed the plug in tried a TEST and I keep getting the message –

    Test Failed
Failed to create test directory. Please check that your uploads folder is writable.

I changed the Upload folder permissions to 755 then to 777 and still get the same error message. Retried and the same happens.

    Can you help please?

    I don’t really have any ideas 🙁
That error is triggered when Htaccess File Editor attempts to create a temporary test folder like /htaccess-test-123
If the wp-content/uploads folder is writeable (which with 0777 permissions it definitely should be) then it should be fine.
Please check that you are definitely changing the permissions. If you change them via FTP, like FileZila it might seem like they are being updated but nothing is changed in reality. You need to either change them via your hosting admin panel or via SSH with chmod.
