 * I am new to wordpress so bare with me. I have searched the forums and haven’t
   been able to find a post regarding my issue. Any help would be appreciated.
 * Here goes:
    I’m setting up a wordpress website for a client and am using this
   as a learning experience. I have installed the script and everything works great.
   My question is how am I able to edit the theme and site information and view
   it online without anyone else gaining access to the website? I put up an ‘under
   construction page(index.html) which is showing when someone navigates to the
   site, though when I type in [http://www.thewebsite.com/index.php](http://www.thewebsite.com/index.php),
   it kicks me back to the ‘under construction’ page. Is there a way tha tI can
   have the under construction page up and work on the website still visually? I
   was told that I could modify the .htaccess file to give extensions a hierarchy,
   though don’t know how.
 * Thank you for any and all help!
    Sincerely, Chris beingproperties.com

 * Hi,
 * I think you can add the priority of the default page from the hosting control
   panel..however, you can set the .htaccess code to use it…here is the example
   sites:

 * Hi centinel3,
 * You could temporarily redirect everyone excluding yourself using a temporary
   redirect…
 * You could do this on a IP basis, excluding your own, anyone not on your IP gets
   sent to pageX while you remain able to access WP pages…
 * Of course if your IP changes alot this may not be suited…
 * If that’s what you need, just reply back and i’ll find something suited for you…
   it’s fairly straight-forward…
