    Hello WordFence team,

    I recently had to make some manual changes in the htaccess file (Redirection rules because a path rename that took place), I did upload the modified htaccess file, yet a day later, the htaccess file reverted back to the original one.

    All I did is ad a line within the WordPress section as follows:
    ….
    RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
    Redirect /author/ /member/
    </IfModule>

    The line Redirect /author/ /member/ was removed the next day, I presume it’s a function done by WordFence to prevent htaccess modifications, if that’s the case, where can I go to upload the updated htaccess without WordFence reverting it to its original state?

    If not, what caused the htaccess file to revert?

    Hey @fanaticweb,

    It sounds like an update has overwritten your custom rules, not necessarily Wordfence. I’d suggest placing your rule in its own block of code to prevent this from happening in the future.

    Thanks,

    Gerroald

    Noted and done, moved it to a different line outside the “# BEGIN WordPress” bracket, if you don’t mind, I would like to monitor those changes while keeping this ticket open for few days?
