    my website: http://www.mypcsolutions.biz

    my .htaccess files in in my wp-admin directory
    my .htaccess file contents:
    AuthUserFile …/.htpasswd
    AuthType Basic
    AuthName “restricted”
    Order Deny,Allow
    Deny from all
    Require valid-user
    Satisfy any

    1. when I click anywhere other than a hyperlink on my website, I am prompted with a username and password box
    1a. If I click cancel, nothing happens.

    2. When I click a hyperlink (other than the menu), I am prompted for username and password.
    2a. If I click nothing, evenually the box goes away and I am taken to the link destination.
    2b. If I click cancel, I am taken to the link destination.

    I am hosted with Godaddy and using Linux.

    Not sure why this is happening, anyone have any ideas?

  • Ok, figured this out:

    Apparently, you cannot just create a text document using notepad, enter the text, upload to the server, then rename the file.

    What I had to do was create a text file, then rename it to htaccess.php
    Then upload the file to Godaddy, rename the files to .htaccess and then edit the file with the text.

    Boy, what a rough day,
