    My site, http://tribeofadmins.com was hacked via control panels, along with others on my host. The host restored the site, but one of the things I’d noticed was that the hackers had blocked my permissions to htaccess. I thought I’d better have a look at it. I had read that I should reset the permissions number to 644. When I open it, I see this:

    RewriteEngine on
    # BEGIN WordPress
    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
    </IfModule>

    # END WordPress

    RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^$
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://tribeofadmins.com/.*$      [NC]
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://tribeofadmins.com$      [NC]
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://rainhousestudio.com/.*$      [NC]
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://rainhousestudio.com$      [NC]
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://www.rainhousestudio.com/.*$      [NC]
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://www.rainhousestudio.com$      [NC]
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://www.tribeofadmins.com/.*$      [NC]
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://www.tribeofadmins.com$      [NC]
    RewriteRule .*\.(jpg|gif|png|bmp)$ - [F,NC]

    That doesn’t seem right, does it? Where does that “644”belong? Am I looking at the wrong file? it’s .htaccess and it’s an invisible file. Rainhousestudio is my second website, BTW – I just haven’t set it up yet.
