# htaccess file location

 * I am trying to assure my 301 redirects are correct for a customer site but can’t
   seem to find the htaccess file. Anyone know where it would be located? I have
   hidden files showing in my FTP but don’t see one?!

 * The file mostly is hidden. If you don’t have pretty permalinks, you may not have
   it at all.

 * I know it is a hidden file but it should show up if I have hidden files showing
   in my FTP and as far as I know I am on an apache server with pretty permalinks.

 * Try resetting your permalinks and look for it, possibly it may show up. Did you
   try at your control panel?

 * For some reason the FTP I was using wasn’t showing the hidden files, so I used
   a different one and was able to gain access to it.
