.htaccess file causing issues

  • Hi All, I’m uploading WordPress to a new host for a friend who has had a site hosted with another company. I cant get the database to read even though I’ve changed the .htaccess, wp-config and php options table to the general settings needed and .htaccess file you would normally see with WordPress.

    This is what was in the original .htacess file which also doesnt work. I’ve tried to run it locally to fix it and now I cant edit anything in phpmyadmin. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this?

    deny from all
    allow from all
    </Limit>
    <Limit PUT DELETE>
    order deny,allow

    </Limit>

  • You can not install wordpress where you have other website looking the code you have frontpage created website.

    I’m sorry, I dont quite get what you mean. Is this not .htaccess file controlling WordPress. There were the old files from the previous site in with the WordPress files.

    I think I see what you mean – the old site was designed in front page – is that right.

    So I guess I need to re-write the .htaccess with the usual WP one.

    are there any frontpage files where you have installed wordpress if so I will move them to folder.

    Great, I’ll give it a go and see if it works, thanks for your help. 🙂

    You are welcome
