• Hi,

    I’m trying to edit the url ending in /on-slippery-ice-20150201 to /on-slippery-ice. I was told I need to do this in the .htaccess file. How do I do this?

    If that is the link to an individual post or page, you can edit the slug on the Edit Post page. Just under the title entry field you’ll see an ‘edit’ button.

    I tried that, and it does work. But what I’m trying to do is make sure that in the future, its not configured to give me that ID number at the end of the line. Sorry that I didn’t clarify

    I’m not sure why the date is being appended to the post name, but are you using WP permalinks (Settings > Permalinks)? And does your .htaccess file have the default WP settings?
