I have my wordpress installation in a subfolder on my server. I just finished setting it up and meanwhile had another webpage up until it was ready in the root of the server.
I changed the htaccess file to point into the subfolder and all seems to be working well. However, when you click on the home button on the website it takes you back to the subdirectory in the url area of the browser.
Question 1: Should the path be changed in the admin console to reflect the change in the htaccess file so instead of pointing to the subfolder have it just point to the root? or should that be left alone so in the future if I ever take the site down for maintenance that I can still access it via the subfolder path?
Question 2: When changing your htaccess file to point to a subfolder on the root of the server, should the original root htaccess file be put into the subfolder where wordpress exists? I found doing this made one of my plugins work after a failure. I just want to make sure I am doing it properly.
