• hello,
Does Better WP Security make changes to the WordPress htaccess file please?
When I tried to logon to he wordpress admin panel this morning I got this message:
    > Internal Server Error
    > The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
    > Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@epsiloniom.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
    > More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
    > Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request
    > Also I received about 6 emails of this type this morning which is very concerning:

    > A host, can check the host at http://ip-adress.com/ip_tracer/ has been locked out of the WordPress site at http://www.epsiloniom.com permanently due to too many login
attempts. You may login to the site to manually release the lock if necessary.

My server host has since resolved the problem and advised that I uninstall the plugin to prevent it happening again, can you comment please?

    Hello sir,

Yes, for improving website security, this plugin will make necessary changes on .htaccess file.

A 500 internal server error may happen if your website try to use more memory than allowed by your webhost. As far as I know, these features use lots of memory, you may need to consider to disable them:
    – Database Backup
    – File Change Detection

    To prevent it happening again:
    – You can uninstall the plugin, but I don’t suggest you to do it
    – Disable the “Database Backup” and “File Change Detection”

    Good luck!
