Howto make an image selector?

  • Hi,

I’ve searched for this issue quite a bit and only found solutiosn 1+ years old. I’m not confident using those with the latest wordpress version.

I’m developing a plugin in which a users needs to input a url to an image. It would be better to also have a button next to it to let the user select an image (or other file) from the media library. How can I code this in a plugin?

  • Not 100% clear on where this image url field is located, but if you want it in a post meta-box, WP-Alchemy is your answer. Makes creating meta-boxes very easy. It has a nice media library integration.

its going to be on the option screen of my plugin. I don’t like the idea to include the whole metabox solution (already got my own) just for the image selector. I always like to keep things small and effective

At least take a look at how the author of WP-Alchemy is calling up the medial library. It may give you some clues.
