I just found this plugin and think it might suit me.

I created a pod (“Create New”), some labels and created a page/post under the pod. Now I have some questions.

    – How can I view all posts/pages from a pod in the font-end? I can only view the page from the back-end (preview/show page).

    – When I show a page as above, I can’t see any of my custom fields/labels in the front-end. Why?

I use the default theme Twenty Twelve. I read that the plugin is compatible with Builder and Genesis, but I don’t want to buy any theme just to test the plugin. I want to know how the plugin works and if it meets my needs first.

    What I’m trying to accomplish:

I want to have a separate area for “Puppies” and “Breeders”. In “Puppies” I want to list litters with different fields/labels such as birth, delivery date, etc. In “Breeders” I want to list dog breeders with different fields/labels such as dog breed and location. I would then like to sort them by categories.

    Thanks!

You probably want to quickly go through the tutorial for Pods Templates and Auto Templates that is part of this series at OSTraining:

    https://www.ostraining.com/class/pods/

Basically, you need to create a Pods Template for Puppies and one for Breeders, you can use the [each][/each] template tag to show related puppies by Breeder and vice-versa on Breeders by Puppies and use the Auto Template settings to make those Templates show up on your individual Puppies and Breeder pages.

You might also want to look at Beautiful Taxonomy Filters for sorting items by categories as that’s much more complicated than a standard Pods Template for outputting your content.

If you have questions, you can join us on our Slack Chat at http://pods.io/chat/ on the #support channel, but if you haven’t looked at the tutorial above first, that’s the first place I’d recommend you go, because it will show you how to make your Pods Fields, etc. show on your current Puppies & Breeders posts.
