Support » Plugin: WP Super Cache » How to use WP Super Cache with Mobble Plugin for mobile detection

  • In the past, I’ve used the Mobble Plugin for mobile detection. It’s been very useful for things like switching out large header sliders with more mobile-friendly images for mobile devices. Unfortunately caching plugins do not play well with Mobble. As it states on their plugin page “Please note that in certain setups caching will cause undesired behaviour. If your cache is set too aggressively PHP will be skipped and the device detection will not work.” I was previously using W3 Total Cache and was able to find a successful method to allow the plugins to work together. I’ve since switched to WP Super Cache Plugin for caching. I’ve searched through both Mobble’s plugin page and WP Super Cache’s plugin page, as well as a general Google search and I can’t find any tips on how to make these two plugins work together. Below are the steps I used for W3 Total Cache in case they might be useful:

Must do the following for mobile detection to work:
W3 Total Cache settings: go to Performance -> Page Cache -> Advanced -> Never cache the following pages -> Add mobile-detect\.php
W3 Total Chache settings: go to Performance-> User Agent Groups -> Check boxes to enable both the high and low groups

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
