How to use strtupper on author's name and delete 'by'

  • I am currently using the theme Jenny and am in the process of customizing it. I would like to use strtupper on the index.php file to make the author’s name appear in all caps and also to delete “by” in the author line:

    <p><a href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>" rel="bookmark" title="<?php the_title_attribute(); ?>"><?php echo strtoupper (get_the_time('F j, Y')) ?></a> | <?php _e ('BY ','JENNY'); ?><?php the_author_posts_link(); ?></p>

    Can you provide a link to your site?

    It might be easier to just edit your CSS to display it as uppercase using “text-transform: uppercase;” in a child theme’s style.css file.

    If you share a link then we can take a look using a tool such as Firebug and help you find the right CSS.

    <p><a href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>" rel="bookmark" title="<?php the_title_attribute(); ?>"><?php echo strtoupper (get_the_time('F j, Y')) ?></a> | <?php #_e ('BY ','JENNY'); ?><?php strtoupper(the_author_posts_link()); ?></p>

    Obviously can’t test that or anything but it’ll probably work. Link would be helpful as Jan Dembowsi said.

    Thanks–I actually figured it out, so it isn’t a problem any longer!
