How to use PhotoPanel in conjunction with Lightbox element

I want to use the Photopanel in two scenarios – different but similar

For Photos, I want to use the panel, with the ‘smaller’ image above, the description below and a click on the panel opens a ‘larger’ version of the image – so that is just the Lightbox in normal image mode

For our event descriptions, I want to use the panel, with a ‘smaller’ image above, the description below and a click on the panel opens an inline popup – so that is just the Lightbox in normal inline content mode

I can get the elements working separately – but not together – is this achievable – many thanks
