I’m trying to use my own image as the header in 2.0. According to all the documentation I’ve read, I should just be able to upload personalheader.jpg to the \wp-content\themes\default\images directory, and it will work. Unfortunately, that has no effect whatsoever. I’m definitely *not* a PHP guy, but I looked at the code a bit and decided to try to upload my image as kubrickheader.jpg.

This does have an effect. Specifically, my image appears *behind* the default header. You can see the edges poking out from behind it. So, how do I turn the default header off?

You can see the problem I’m having at http://www.bignoisybug.com.

I’d appreciate any help anyone can offer. I like Kubrick because it’s simple, but I can’t stand that big colorful space at the top of the page.

    Thanks,
    Pete Pollack

  • Well, if you’re using Kubrick, the path will be something like \wp-content\themes\kubrick\images.

Yes, but there is no kubrick directory. Kubrick is default in WP 2.0, so the proper path is wp-content\themes\default\images.

actually Class, Kubrick is called default in the wp-contents/themes directory.

And it looks like you’ve changed themes knadles, so it’s hard to say what needed to be done.

    Changed back. I was experimenting…

Is there no one that can help me with this?

I have tried the using the personalheader.jpg way..and I believe U must change all the references in the code form kubrickheader.jpg to personalimage.jpg…BUT the easiest way is to just name your pic kubrickheader.jpg and replace it in the images directory..hope this helps

make sure U turn off colors and toggle text off ( if U are using a title in your image instead) also… 8 )

yup I just looked U have it correct but U need to choose options for this theme and turn off the colors and Text….

I’m not sure how to turn off the colors. I turned off the text, but removing the color settings just gives me a black box.

    Thanks for jumping in…

OKee are U using the Default install of kubrick first of all?

that word Be Default 1.5? o

I’m using the default that came with 2.0.

This message is in the index template. It worked for me once when I used the Kubrick template.

/* To ease the insertion of a personal header image, I have done it in such a way, that you simply drop in an image called ‘personalheader.jpg’ into your /images/ directory. Dimensions should be at least 760px x 200px. Anything above that will
get cropped off of the image. */

Sorry I am treating this like a chat…LOL If so U have a an option already there if not there are couple things U can try… if U have the default U should have “Current theme options” hit that choose Advanced … Set default colrs and toggle text display..and it’s good…if U do NOT have that …..U can get the function.php from the WP 2.0 install…

Yeah I tried that..and Itried changing all the code …it was just easier to name my pic “kubrickgeader.jpg”

…But U see the “curent theme options” under “presentation”? that’s the magic panel 8 )
