Reviews say how great it works, but these instructions from 2020media explain how to use WP Simple Anchors. Turns out it is simple and it does work but that one step that the author did not mention is explained at this link. https://wordpress.org/support/topic/beginners-guide-1?replies=2

This instruction doesn’t work for me. I selected the page to link to
http://www.mysite.org/content/this-is-the-page

Then added #anchorname to the end of it
http://www.mysite.org/content/this-is-the-page#anchorname

When I click the link, a forward slash is added to the URL by my browser (no matter the browser)
http://www.mysite.org/menu/this-is-the-page/#anchorname

So the link fails.
