how to use different templates for diff pages

  • I am new to using WordPress. I want to use different templates for diff pages. The documentation says: “Toward the bottom of the write > Page administration panel (or on the sidebar, depending on the version of WP you are using) is a drop-down labeled “page template” etc… I simply cannot find this on my screen. I am at the Dashboard. Help Tx

The dropdown will not appear until your current theme has at least one custom page template.

Some themes come with alternate page display templates, and some do not, so if you’re using one that does not, you won’t see that pulldown at all.

Your options, then, would be to either

a.) find a theme with multiple display templates,
b.) manually create your own templates, or possibly
c.) there is a plugin called “Page Theme”, I believe, which will allow you to assign a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THEME to any given page; this is handy if you want the page to look completely different and even have the unique features of a given theme, differently from the rest of the pages.

    Hope this helps!
