I am currently using WordPress to re-do a currently published website, which I designed in Frontpage.
I am using a local version of WordPress to do the re-design (‘WordPress For Windows’ – used MS Webmatrix to install a local version of WP to my computer HD). I don’t know much about the technicals. Assume folks here will know what I’m talking about!
When the local WP version of the site is completed, I assume I will be able to upload it to my current hosting account, to replace the current FP website using the same URL. Is this a straightforward process?
Just to be safe, I would like to keep my current FP version of the site, until I can see that the new WP-based one is working properly in all aspects. To do this, would I migrate the current site to a subdomain, then upload the local WP version of the site to the vacated URL? Is that a difficult process? If not, could someone please describe the steps involved?
